sjuloves music #2

Say hi to my new playlist!

It shows what I've been up to in June. Working, taking and editing pics, drawing, writing, housekeeping and listening to, let's say, rhythmic music in the background. Less of singing, more instrumental - electro - swing. Are you also often interrupted by lyrics in songs while working and tend to sing together with the interpret? Are you also missing the good old last.fm with all those tags and recommendations? How easy it was back then to answer the question of 'What kind of music do you listen to?'.

Btw, those Spotify recommendations suck, I must say. The only thing worth it, in my opinion, is Discover Weekly (has some weaker weeks form time to time, though, maybe they need more tags :D)

As you might notice, one song in the playlist is slightly different than the others. I couldn't help myself not to put Nils Frahm in there. No electro, no beats, just piano. But Nils is da real MVP, I'll tell you. I've been to his concert twice and he just nailed it. (Moreover, I LOVE the sound of Rhodes)

I'm already curious if you'll liste to my new playlist and what will you say - either about my 'working' electro or about Nils. And don't forget to leave me a comment down below and let me know what kind of music you prefer while you're working!

sjuloves music #1

When it comes to blogging, I've always wanted to try one thing -- to have a regular feature. To have that will and inner power to sit in front of the computer and contribute to the world with another Empties, Top 10 or New In post.

You might say, pretty ambitious wish for someone who writes one post per week. But what if it's caused by the topic? I don't care about empties, I simply throw them out, and in the end of the month I barely remember what I bought in the beginning.

I've decided to test it anyway. I've always been a bit of a music nerd, loving interesting music stuff of various genres, which radio stations don't play -- so I decided to create a playlist of my beloved songs each month!

I'm pretty curious how will that work and if you will like my fav music. Let me know in the comment section down below!

5 tips: How to be a successful blogger

There are plenty of blogs in the world, and whether you believe or not, every second 134 brand new ones are created! And for those beginning bloggers I've got 5 tips how to be popular, which I've learned through my more than 2y blogging 'career'. Some of them I apply by myself, some I do not, but I'm sure, these 5 definitely works:

1. Forget about blogs, you should make videos. You surely noticed an outflow of bloggers to youtube claiming 'I want to be closer to my fans, blogs are soo impersonal!' Sure. Whatever the true reason is, video is the future (as you could also see on the Engage conference last season, all the top teenage idols in US are the youtubers/snapchatters, according to Pavlina Louzenska*) and also, it generates some real money instead of a barter lipstick from an unknown eshop.

2. Bring something new. Do you also have trouble telling one blog from another as they are all full of Stan Smiths, macaronis and but-first-coffee-people? If your heart beats for minimalism, coffee is your blood type and you can imagine wearing something else than a biker jacket, try to figure out, what else besides of fashion innovativeness you can bring to your potential readers. Can you write well? Perfect! Are you funny? Even better!

3. Be seen. According to Brian Carter, the author of The Like Economy: How Businesses Make Money With Facebook**, people tend to like faces which they see more. Leave a lot of comments, post articles frequently, make friends among popular bloggers - this all works on getting attention from potential readers.

4. Reveal a bit of your real life. Be personal, share your own thoughts and communicate with readers. Don't try to substitute the role of magazines and write objective news or delve into relationship topics - honestly, they are usually better at this.

5. Don't be overmotivated. Don't let popularity be your main goal, don't seek for collaborations badly. The most popular bloggers nowadays harvest fruit from their longtime work - and they've started blogging in the right time. Don't compare yourself with them. Create a blog with lot of content from your heart, with joy and passion for blogging/writting/photography itself. Let the readers' appreciation be the bonus for you, not the main reason.

SOCIAL MEDIA IS NOT THE REAL LIFE

index index index

Hey guys, even though you probably couldn't miss this story on the internet, I want to dedicate this article to the very hot topic - Social Media Is Not The Real Life.

First of all, let me ask you a question - Do you think instagram posts from people with hundreds of thousands followers are all authentic? Do you think, that these people are happy, self confident, with a laid-back approach to life?

Whatever your answer is, keep reading! :)

This is a story of Essena O'Neill whose whole 'carreer' has been built around Social Media. She had more than 700k followers on the Instagram and now she stopped taking social-media photos and keeps re-eding her photos with 'true' captions.

"Posting on instagram consumed me. I can't tell you how beautiful life is without a phone, without social media, without comparing, or likes or followers. We are not followers, we are beings of individuality and love. I have never felt so free. ” she's saying in her video, which is unfortunatelly not longer available.
She was literally crying, and explaing us how she started with social media at the age of 12, trying to prove herself, her own value a and show to other people that she also can be as beautiful as models are.

But then she realized, she was just consumed and overhelmed by it, doing only what paying companies wanted from her, and stopped being herself.
That video has became extremely viral. And almost everyone says she's rigth, she's the one who managed to open her eyes and see how the world and social media really are (and aren't).

No i tak, zvolania so slzami v očiach "Ľudiaaa, choďte von! Tam je skutočný svet! Príroda, ľudia sa objímajú, rozprávajú sa!" mi prídu strašne patetické.
Dívam sa okolo a všetci žijú normálne životy neberúc sociálne siete moc vážne a ona mi svojím posolstvom príde, akoby si toho nebola uplne vedomá.

What do you think about that?
Well.. I find it very interesting, but maybe more pathetic then inspiring.
At first I need to say that starting an Insta/YouTube/Whatever-Social-Media-Channel with the intention to prove your value is just really sad.
And crying "Heeey people, go outside and see the nature, hug other people! There's a life outside!!" as if it was a huge discovery just tells me that she still takes Instagram and social media very seriously.
I just cannot see the difference between being obssessed by posting how perfect and special she is (thin, beautiful, joyful) via social media before and being obssessed by posting how valuable are her thoughts and makeovers are now.
And, strangely enough, she's asking for donations in a Youtube video, because she lost her sponsors and stopped posting the paid content, thus losing her source of income..

So..yes. Of course it's better that she realized how silly she was, better late than never, but blaming social media isn't the right way how to prove she's more mature than she was when she was 12.
Her message isn't bad per se, and I believe many young girls in their pre-pubertal age doubting their own value should listen to her. However, the form she used and the overhelming emotional tsunami I got from the video didn't really persuade me.

What do you think guys?

WHY I'M NOT GONNA BE A MODEL

jacket: Lindex // sweater: Promod // trousers, scarf: Mango // sneakers: Nike //

Poznáte to.

I'm sure you've seen them.
Amazing fashion blogs, where you're not sure, whether the blogger isn't a model at the same time. And sometimes she actually ist, like Misa from World needs blondes, huh. Casual poses, natural looks like from a magazine.
So, I'm talking to myself, maybe I could also try it one day, too...might it would bring a bit of seriousness to my blog..maybe even a bit of sophistication..

Pity I can do that only when I'm not looking at the camera.
When I'm pretending that nothing happened. I'm just standing on a stone..
But then suddenly I spot ..
.. rope pulley.

Shit..

Tak možno nabudúce..

Maybe next time..

Iceland Fan

Ak vás zaujímajú moje fotky a cestovateľské tipy, ostaňte naladení. Čoskoro sa všetko dozviete :)

Oh Iceland, I've imagined you more like a miraculous and breath-taking place. You have to be like that, being an inspiration to the beautiful music made by Sigur Ros or Olafur Arnalds. Scandinavia in her purest embodiment.
And you were only beautiful. Maybe I just shouldn't have look at those photoshopped pics on the internet, with northern lights, colourful sky, turquoise water and HDR filters applied so ruthlessly. I don't regret a single Icelandic day.

If you're interested in my pics and travel tips, stay tuned :)

Tiež by nikto nepovedal, aké budú obyčajné papuče zrazu cool. Jo, to bude osud aj šušťákov - obyčajných, ba až zatracovaných športových gatí, a ja budem *trendsetter*! Videla som to medzi regálmi športového obchodu čisto a jasne.

V krajinách, kde ľudia bežne nosia šušťákové súpravy, ponožky v sandáloch, či Rejoice trekové gate hocikde a s hocičím, sa už snáď nedá byť inovatívny! Ja asi niekam odsťahujem, kde budem konečne cool :D

Kto máte instagram, nezabudnite sa zúčastniť mojej Clinique - Giveaway (klik)! Čas je už len do nedele!
                                                                                                                 ● ● ● ● ●

When I was shopping for a pair of track pants for some outdoor activities recently, I knew I would be tempted to try them on also for other occasions. Super comfy, informal and a bit weird... just like the popular Birkenstocks! Who would have thought that those ugly slippers will become so cool. That's what will happen with my track pants for sure -- ordinary and ugly sporty trousers will become (in)famous! I could see the picture of me becoming the trendsetter quite clearly while shopping for my pair.

How big my surprise was when I met a sun-tanned guy sporting the same track pants on a tram station. And after a couple of hours two more guys, hair thoroughly greased, wearing the same track suit. But wait. Is this a trend already? In countries where people wear tracksuits, socks in sandals or track pants on a daily basis, how can you be innovative?! I need to come up with something new..or move somewhere else :D
