5 things I wish I could wear

I call it being rational and practical. But it's actually more about laziness, unwillingness to sacrifice in the name of fashion and finding more and more reasons why not. I don't know what I'm waiting for, but I'm certainly overestimating my future me if I think it will happen one day just like that. No, it certainly won't. But it would be great if I would be able to wear all the stuff I admire on others suddenly, but it hasn't grown on me yet.

High heels.

They look amazing on every woman, give grace to the rest of the outfit and have just one dark spot of beauty -- you can't walk in them. And by walk I mean running late to work, balancing on cobblestones, galloping to catch the bus and other normal-life activities, not just stepping out from a car on a red carpet. At least I cannot. But I believe a real lady does that!

High heels in winter.

Or any kind of shoes with bare legs in winter. Yes, I admit, it looks amazing with a winter coat and brave Scandi women wear that a lot but..I just don't get it how they pull that off.

Biker jacket.

OMG I've wanted a biker jacket for soo long now. All women wear it ant it looks gorgeous on every single one of them. BUT. I see one logical error there. Let me explain it to you. As we all know, a biker jacket looks the best when it's undone. That means in cold weather you'll be cold. On the other hand, it has long, relatively warm, leather sleeves, which means in hot weather, you'll be hot. Do you see it? It's suitable only for transition weather seasons, which is roughly .. one month a year (Have you actually realized how this year we haven't had any autumn at all? One day we had sunny warm weather, but the next one was cold as hell) and if I wanna have a proper bad-ass biker jacket (which I certainly do), it will cost soo much money I'm not willing to spend on.

Clutches

- tiny colorful beauties which have been made to upgrade your outfit to a next level. Not mine, obviously, because I'm unable to carry less then a hundred useful things in my backpack with me.

Necklines.

Audacious or refined and sophisticated, it's always hot. But in my case is more like 'I'm cold', 'A turtleneck is more compfy', 'Too superficial', 'I don't need to grab attention like that' blah blah blah bullshit. After a few attempts in the past I've realized I'm too lazy to wear it and..I don't care. Red lipstick as a subtitusion of neckline or heels works as well. (Not in winter, though. Winter + riding a bike = frequent sniffling --> the risk of smudging the lisptick. You know, me being 'rational and practical')

Anyway, what are the unreachable stylish dreams of yours? What do you admire on other girls, but you somehow cannot imagine it wearing yourself?

sjuloves music #1

When it comes to blogging, I've always wanted to try one thing -- to have a regular feature. To have that will and inner power to sit in front of the computer and contribute to the world with another Empties, Top 10 or New In post.

You might say, pretty ambitious wish for someone who writes one post per week. But what if it's caused by the topic? I don't care about empties, I simply throw them out, and in the end of the month I barely remember what I bought in the beginning.

I've decided to test it anyway. I've always been a bit of a music nerd, loving interesting music stuff of various genres, which radio stations don't play -- so I decided to create a playlist of my beloved songs each month!

I'm pretty curious how will that work and if you will like my fav music. Let me know in the comment section down below!

  • Keď vás ktosí zrazí, spôsobí pár zranení a zlomí ručnú brzdu a povie "Sorry, som zo Chicaga, tam máme iné predpisy, a dnes mam narodeniny!" naštve ešte viac.
My 8 impressions about biking in Copenhagen after 4 months spent here
  • I used to hop on my bike just on my way to grandma, it is very unusual and to a certain extent even discomfy to ride a bike every day, in every weather, dressed in the 'normal' and non-sporty clothes. The problem 'what to wear?' has gotten a new dimension - 'what to wear on bike?'
  • I'm feeling very strong and healthy while biking - I'm always saying to myself: "nevermind I ate two cupcakes instead of one, I'm burning calories, baby!"
  • Biking in the nice weather is the best feeling.
  • Biking in the dark, foggy, windy, rainy weather sucks.
  • When somebody hits you on the road, breakes your brake, causes several 1.4rem injuries to you and says 'I'm sorry, we have different traffic rules in Chicago and today is my birthday!", it sucks even more.
  • I thought I would get sick easily by riding on bike in the wind and rain, but luckilly I haven't! With bike I excercise every day and it keeps me healthy.
  • Even when I'm feeling lazy - there's no other option than bike. Public transport is expensive and the coverage of the city is not as great as public transport in Prague. Bike is always the cheapest and fastest way of transport.
  • Especially now in winter, I often reminisce with love about the cosy Prague trams and metro - reading blogs, editing photos, and creating articles during the daily commute to work and back. That's impossible now  - I need to watch out for the traffic.

11 FIRST-WORLD PROBLEMS

jacket: H&M // dress: Monki // bag: Odivi // sneakers: Nike

1. Nechutný rozvrh, kedy máte 4 dni v týždni ranné hodiny.
2. Žiadna sieť // wifi
3. Baterka sa dostáva do červených čísel. 10%, žiadna nabíjačka po ruke a cesta domov ešte veľmi ďaleká.
4. Zas pomiešali emoji. Srdcia v symboloch, handry presunuté z predmetov do ksichtov, vianočný stromček pri veveričke vo zvieratách..nemôžu tam tie nové proste len pridať?? Aaargh!
5. Konečne sú zľavy, konečne si chcete kúpiť vec, po ktorej ste dlho prahli a oni nemajú vaše číslo.
6. Zato majú vaše číslo veci, ktorú ste si bohémsky kúpili za plnú cenu, že veď žijete len raz a sú to len peniaze. Ehm -.-

                                                                                                                 ● ● ● ● ●

1. Really disgusting schedule. You have morning lessons 4 days per week.
2. No network // wifi connection
3. No more juice. The battery is low.
4. They mixed up emoji icons again. Hearts among symbols, clothes among faces ..aaargh!
5. You have been patient and waited for so long for the item you wanted to buy in a sale and now they don't have your size.
6. They have your size on sale, but you've already bought it for the full price.
7. Somebody bought something you had in an e-shop cart while you were (slowly) going through the process of filling in all the form fields.
8. They don't have your favourite brand of strawberries and you have to buy some ordinary one without the expressive taste or, god forbid, go through the day without strawberries..
9. The episode of a series you just downloaded is in Czech instead of English and you have to download a different one.
10. Your bluetooth connection to your speakers is soo crappy that you rather torture yourself with the sound coming from your cellphone // notebook.
11. Suddenly every freaking fashion blogger has the thing you wanted to buy and it is all over the instagram and the bloggosphere.

I'm feeling very happy realizing what makes me angry from time to time. Seriously. Noticing how irrelevant problems I sometimes have makes me feel very satisfied with my life. And thankful for being healthy, relatively wealthy, with my loving relatives and friends around me.

What are your first-world problems, what makes you angry and happy at the same time?

SOCIAL MEDIA IS NOT THE REAL LIFE

index index index

Hey guys, even though you probably couldn't miss this story on the internet, I want to dedicate this article to the very hot topic - Social Media Is Not The Real Life.

First of all, let me ask you a question - Do you think instagram posts from people with hundreds of thousands followers are all authentic? Do you think, that these people are happy, self confident, with a laid-back approach to life?

Whatever your answer is, keep reading! :)

jacket: Levi's (second hand) // dress: COS // cardigan: Zara // bag: Odivi // sneakers: Nike // sock and stockings : H&M and Lindex

This is a story of Essena O'Neill whose whole 'carreer' has been built around Social Media. She had more than 700k followers on the Instagram and now she stopped taking social-media photos and keeps re-eding her photos with 'true' captions.

"Posting on instagram consumed me. I can't tell you how beautiful life is without a phone, without social media, without comparing, or likes or followers. We are not followers, we are beings of individuality and love. I have never felt so free. ” she's saying in her video, which is unfortunatelly not longer available.
She was literally crying, and explaing us how she started with social media at the age of 12, trying to prove herself, her own value a and show to other people that she also can be as beautiful as models are.

But then she realized, she was just consumed and overhelmed by it, doing only what paying companies wanted from her, and stopped being herself.
That video has became extremely viral. And almost everyone says she's rigth, she's the one who managed to open her eyes and see how the world and social media really are (and aren't).

No i tak, zvolania so slzami v očiach "Ľudiaaa, choďte von! Tam je skutočný svet! Príroda, ľudia sa objímajú, rozprávajú sa!" mi prídu strašne patetické.
Dívam sa okolo a všetci žijú normálne životy neberúc sociálne siete moc vážne a ona mi svojím posolstvom príde, akoby si toho nebola uplne vedomá.

What do you think about that?
Well.. I find it very interesting, but maybe more pathetic then inspiring.
At first I need to say that starting an Insta/YouTube/Whatever-Social-Media-Channel with the intention to prove your value is just really sad.
And crying "Heeey people, go outside and see the nature, hug other people! There's a life outside!!" as if it was a huge discovery just tells me that she still takes Instagram and social media very seriously.
I just cannot see the difference between being obssessed by posting how perfect and special she is (thin, beautiful, joyful) via social media before and being obssessed by posting how valuable are her thoughts and makeovers are now.
And, strangely enough, she's asking for donations in a Youtube video, because she lost her sponsors and stopped posting the paid content, thus losing her source of income..
For more, click on her page -- here

So..yes. Of course it's better that she realized how silly she was, better late than never, but blaming social media isn't the right way how to prove she's more mature than she was when she was 12.
Her message isn't bad per se, and I believe many young girls in their pre-pubertal age doubting their own value should listen to her. However, the form she used and the overhelming emotional tsunami I got from the video didn't really persuade me.

What do you think guys?

5 THINGS I HATE ABOUT INSTAGRAM

index index index
jacket: Levi's (second hand from Mads Nørdgaard) // sweater: H&M // jeans: Mango // shoes: Vagabond // bag: Odivi

Scrollujem novými príspevkami a upravujem fotky, kedykoľvek mám 5 minút času a hrozne ma to baví. Ale napriek tomu, že ma Insta baví možno i viac ako blogy, youtube a fejsbuky dokopy, týchto päť vecí ma fakt vytáča:
  1. Ľudia, ktorí vás follownú, čakajú, že ich follownete späť a za dva dni vás odfollownú.   Mňa takto striedavo (od)followovali nejaké Pražské kytice a Kuchyne a nábytok. Je to fakt otravné a smutné, ale asi to vynáša - tie Kuchyne majú okolo 3tis followerov.
Poznáte to, žijete si spokojne a nič vám nechýba a v tom si pozriete Instagram a BUM! Túžite po novej UD palete, Nike botách, Chloe kabelke ..díky Insta!
  3. Preferencie fotiek.
  5. Fake profily a spamy. Hoci sa každému novému followerovi teším jak malá, jednoznačne fake profily hneď blokujem a nahlasujem. Aj komentáre. Dobre im tak!
No more annoyingly long waiting in a queue, in doc's waiting room or travelling in public transport since we have Instagram. I scroll through posts and edit photos whenever I have spare five minutes and I just love it. Even though I love Instagram more than blogs, youtube and facebook combined, these five things just suck:
  1. Accounts following me just because they're expecting I will follow them back. And after two days they usually unfollow, just to follow again in couple of days. It's just silly and sad.
  2. Ads everywhere. We just dose ourselves ads and crave for stuff we would not know about without having Instagram. Having some peaceful time, not needing anything, scrolling through Instagram and than BAM! ..you really need that UD palette, Nike sneakers or Chloe bag...Damn it!
  3. People's preferences. What irritates me maybe the most is that people like mostly pictures of food. If I had some luxury stuff, it would probably beat the food, but for now the food is just unbeatable. And when I post a really good pic, it gets barely a few likes..
  4. Authenticity loss. You can buy thousands of likes and followers for a bargain. Who can you trust, then? And you also feel bad for having just a fraction of your fellow-bloggers' followers...
  5. Fake profiles and spams. Even though I'm happy like a hippo when I gain a new follower, I block obviously fake profiles within a second. And report them. And spamming comments as well. Nah!

THE REAL YOU

dress: ODIVI // shoes: Toms // bag, necklance: H&M // watch: Casio
photos by: Margita Figuri

Tiež občas so úsmevom sledujete uniformitu na uliciach?

Trendy pominú, no váš štýl je večný.

                                                                                                        ● ● ● ● ●

Do you also observe with amusement and a smile on your face the encompassing sameness in the streets? How the white AirForce sneakers, skinny jeanse, white top and biker jacker are considered to be the shiny top of the women's style? Meanwhile, a small group of people dressed in oversize white tents shirts know that this is just boring mainstream and the real trendsetter wears minimal?

Don't take trends so seriously. They're passing by, and the only one that lasts is your own style. It's not easy to peck out something different form the actual trends in chains, but certainly not impossible. If not in shops then second hands may come in handy (pun intended). Alternatives also include mom's closet or local fashion designers. And you guys know that this investment is really worth it. You'll be getting a piece you'll make a difference with, a true jewell and... a good feeling :))
